360 to One: Xbox gamers to vote

Earlier this week, Microsoft made the long-desired yet previously ignored ability of backwards compatibility for its current and previous generation Xbox consoles.

I think it is clear to everyone that without resorting to hyperbole, this is one of the greatest developments in the history of gaming, if not humanity itself. I am still giddy with excitement and anticipation, and the good news just keeps coming.

While the initial list of 360 games that will be playable on the One was admittedly somewhat underwhelming, the much-maligned console and computing behemoth is taking things to a whole new level!!

Microsoft is actually asking its gamers which games they would like to see included in the programme! That’s right, while certain other console manufacturers are busy being hacked or randomly adding screens on their controllers, Microsoft is offering their gamers the opportunity to have a say in their gaming options and vote on which 360 games they would like to play on their Ones.

While they understandably don’t commit to every game being made available, presumably because there are just so many amazing games on the 360 and the One already, they do state that they will try to make available as many of the favourite games as possible, which is particularly good news if you’re a fan of some of the bigger franchise games.

The top five games at the time of writing are:

  1. Red Dead Redemption
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops II
  3. Skyrim
  4. Halo: Reach
  5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

If you can’t see your favourite game there, fear not, because you can simply head on over the their full list where there are plenty more games just waiting for your vote, all the way down to Skate 3 which is currently languishing at the bottom.

I think their greatest achievement was to have games downloaded only -disc free, and then making an 180* U-turn. All about PS4TW

    • You couldn’t be more wrong. You could try, but you would fail.

I wish they had kept the disc-free gaming, but as with many tech changes, too many people didn’t bother to learn about what it really meant before going internet-crazy on it and forcing a change.

The only joy to be found in an Xbone is shouting X-Box OFF!! when a mates at the vinegar strokes of some difficult game or near the end of a race.
